Hello everyone,

I am building up a family tree and on my Mother's side, apart from a continuing link with Clay Cross of which I have always been aware, I have found a strong link through my Great Grandmother, Alice Smith (nee Stocks) with South Normanton in particular, but also with Blackwell and Tibshelf, going back to before 1800.

Any information that anyone can provide me regarding the Stocks family would be very welcome and much appreciated. The male members of the Stocks family I have found in the course of my research have all worked in coal mining and I was wondering if there are any archives I could access which would provide further information regarding their working lives.

As I have said, any help in obtaining further information would be greatly appreciated.
