Hi my name is Robert James White, and with the help of my wife we have been tracing my family history. Most of the White's seem to have came from Alfreton, although we also have connections in Ossington,Gringley on the Hill, Somercoates, North Wingfield, Shirlands, Belper, Stonebroom and Tibshelf. These are all place connected to family members that we have found while doing the family history search. We have used the Census's as well as Parish records and have obtained birth, death and marriage certificates and some parish records. We know that there were many brother and sisters and brothers we have managed to find them all, and most of the male decendants were in mining, they all came from this area and most of them died in this area.

BUT, now we have come to a blank and hope that someone out there can help to fill in the blanks. The person we are looking for is a JOHN WHITE who married MARY ANCLIFF on 8th MAY 1815 in OSSINGTON, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE. We know MARY ANCLIFF was born in OSSINGTON and was christened 7th FEBRUARY 1796 in GRINGLEY on the HILL, OSSINGTON, her parents were WILLIAM and ELIZABETH ANCLIFF.

This JOHN WHITE is the person missing from our tree, we cant find his birthplace, his date of birth or the place he died, or his parentage...We would be so grateful if someone could fill in the blanks for us. Whether it be parish records or family connections or anything would be appreciated.

This JOHN WHITE had a son called SAMUEL WHITE who was born in OSSINGTON in 1817 he married PAMELA BALL in 1839. They were married in ST MARTINS CHURCH, ALFRETON, and both resided in SOMERCOATES at the time of their marriage.

SAMUEL WHITE had a son called JOHN WHITE who was born in 1845 in ALFRETON he married MARY FLINDERS in 1866. They were married in the PARISH CHURCH in BASFORD and both resided in BASFORD at the time of their marriage.

JOHN WHITE had a son called THOMAS JAMES WHITE was born in Hepthorne Lane, North Wingfield, 1882 he married MYRA PAYTON in 1905. . This is my grandfather and my grandmother.

JOHN WHITE probably born in 1790s. Where was he born? When was he born? Where did he die? Where is he buried? And any information on his parentage?
